Feature Film Project and Work-In-Progress Markets in the framework of this year’s Golden Apricot


"Rendezvous at AGBU" meetings with film community are part of the new GAIFF Pro project of this year’s Golden Apricot. The platform includes several components, the most of which is C2C market, according to the coordinator of the project Melik Karapetyan, which is targeting 5 countries of Caucasus - Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey and Iran. The purpose is to support novace film makers to develope their film projects. 
 

Industrial and Product Design in “Nerka design happening” exhibition


On Jule 15, the second Government building, former Ministry of Foreign Affairs, had turned into a gallery. The exhibition showcased the works of 18 individual designers and collectives working on product and industrial design from Armenia, Russia and Ukraine.

Screening of American films in Yerevan


The cinematography fans will have an opportunity to get to know the American filmography for a whole week.  The project is implemented by the School of Cinematic Arts of the University of Southern California. The fourth American Film screening was launched from June 4. This year's program includes 13 fiilms.

WIKI-GLAM forum in Yerevan


GLAM - an abbreviation that stands for Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums. This year Yerevan marks its 2800th anniversary. To this end, Wikipedia Armenia intends to add the materials on Yerevan available in wiki-platforms through GLAM cooperation.   On May 10-11, within the scope of the project “Wiki Loves Yerevan”, a GLAM forum and expo were held with the involvement of 15 museums.

Diaspora – Uniting Around the Church


Do we know how is the life in the Armenian communities of Diaspora, what difficulties, problems and successes they confront? In the beginning of July, 400 Armenian young people from 20 countries were in Armenia for 5 days. The occasion was the gathering of the world youth union of the Armenian Church. We tried to expose the community problems with some of them.

Travel by Hitch Hiking


Hitch hiking has a ecological and social implications: it develops the sense of helping each other without seeking any benefit among people. This is what Ani thinks. She travels by hitch hiking for 5 years, she even got as far as Mediterranean Sea. Ani travels with her friends, and 9 year old son, loving and feeling the nature, and spreading that love for nature.
 

Centaur


At Centaur Center, people and animals help each other and overcome their health and psychological problems together. There are horses, dogs and cats living here. The therapists and their staff work on voluntary basis. This center in Ushi is the first and only animal-assisted therapy facility in Armenia.
 

100th anniversary of the first Republic in Sardarapat Memorial


On May 28, the event called “Century of Victory” was held in Sardarapat Memorial. The Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the President Armen Sargsyan, the President of Artsakh Bako Sahakyan and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II placed wraths on  Sardarapat Memorial followed by the prayer of the Patriarch. After the military march and festive concert, His Holiness finalized the ceremony with his blessing of believers
 

Arevik Social Center of Tavush Diocese will have a new building


The building of Tavush Diocese Prelacy and Arevik Social Center will be ready in April 2019. The activities of Arevik Social Center launched its activities three years ago. The Center has over 100 beneficiaries, mainly children from socially insecure families. The children attend different cultural groups; recently a youth choir was opened.
 

11th Scout Camp hosted Catholicos of All Armenians


The closing ceremony of the 11th Scout Camp held on July 19 hosted Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II. He spoke about the cultural and spiritual values linking Armenians throughout centuries, which helped us overcome all trials of time. He also stated, that a year ago they had made a decision to proclaim the year 2018 as the year of Youth and exhort the Diocese leaders to encourage the youth visiting Armenia.
