To the north-east of Oshakan, on the way to Voskevaz, stands the 7th century St. Zion Church in a place called "Mankanots". It is dedicated to the memory of 40 Christian soldiers killed in Sebastia at the beginning of the 4th century. Every year during Lent, on the Saturday before the Sunday of the Judge, a pilgrimage liturgy is served here.
