Violinist Nikolay Madoyan–winner of Guinness World RecordOn February 20, Nikolay Madoyan performed a musical heroic act on the stage of the Opera Theatre. Together with the Symphonic Orchestra of the Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet, he performed Paganinin’s six violin concertos for the duration of one evening. The concert was recorded and delivered to the office of Guinness World Records by independant Armenian experts.

Union of Composers and Musicologists replenishedAround two months ago, Aram Satyan became the Chairman of the Union of Composers. Since then, the departments of musicology, chamber, children and entrance were restored. The foreign branch of the Union of Composers was also established, which is run from the US. Owing to that, Armenian composers with have an opportunity to present their works abroad in May. These days the Union was replenished with nine new members.

Music text-books for public schools are flawedThree generations were raised through the music text-books and methodological guide-books written by famous music experts Yuri Yuzbashyan and Alina Pahlevanyan for public schools. At present, Mr. Yuzbashyan’s concern is that this new generation is deprived of ethical education.
