Chamber Music House hosted a night dedicated to the 75th anniversary of famous conductor, composer Ruben Altunyan. Friends and close ones came to congratulate the jubilee along with the State Chamber Orchestra lead by Vahan Martirosyan.

Concert of National Gusan and Folk Ensemble


On March 31, the National Gusan and Folk Ensemble of Armenia had a performance in Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall. A number of Syrian Armenians had a special invitation.
The Ensemble invited the students of Chukhajyan Music School for a joint concert.

“Medieval churches of Yerevan”: in attempt of revealing the unknown Yerevan


Third discussion of the series “Araratian discussions” was on the medieval churches of the capital destroyed during the Soviet times and turned into buildings to be used for different purposes.
The project is implemented by the Araratian Patriarchal Diocese and Tsirani NGO.

Museum of Holy Etchmiadzin obtained a ceremonial carpet of XVII-XVIII centuries


Carpet collection of the Mother See Museum was replenished with a valuable carpet typical for the carpet weaving centers in the Northern Artsakh for the XVII-XVIII centuries.

“The Porch” Armenian film to be out soon


The feature film “The Porch” by film director Lusine Sargsyan and film producer and director Aram Shahbazyan is at post-production stage.
“The Porch” consists of five short films telling about the life, human relations, losses and gains of 90-ies.

Artavazd 2014 Award Ceremony finalized


On March 27, World Theatre Day, Artavazd Theatrical Award Ceremony was held in Armenia. 11 nominations out of 14 were awarded to the young people from the mentioned area.

Development of Choral Art – priority direction


The Ministry of Culture of Armenia has announced one of the priority directions of 2014. Open-air and concert hall choral performances will outweigh within the year. Soon the Republican Youth Choir Contest titled “Singing Armenia” with launch. An international symposium and a festival dedicated to the 145th anniversary of Komitas will also be organized.

Funeral of Very Rev. Fr. Shnork Kasparian


Father Shnork has lead pastoral positions in a number of regions of the Eastern Diocese of the USA. In 1963, he was appointed as the Vicar General in Brazil and Uruguay. After called to rest, he kept serving as a visiting pastor in the parishes of Northern America and Canada.
On March 27, under the presidency of Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, the Burial Service of Very Rev. Fr. Shnork Kasparian took place.

Collection “13 plays” published


51 authors from Armenia, Artsakh and Diaspora participated in the drama contest “Levon Shant” announced by the All-National Armenian Educational and Cultural Union. Best 13 plays were handed to the reader’s judgment in one book. The presentation of the collection “13 plays” took place in the Puppet Theatre.

The Power of Kindness


Close friends Hayk and Mikayel agree, that the misbehavior of a group of boys from the neighborhood are harmful and they need to be prevented by any means. Mikayel thinks that the boys should be strictly punished, while Hayk believes that punishment and alienation will only irritate them more.
As the friends try to take measures with the priest’s help, Hayk is forced to save the boys’ life getting into danger himself…
