	Armenian frescoes A powerful and very remarkable field of Armenian medieval art, fresco painting, has not received proper attention for a long time, as it was considered that few specimens have been preserved, they do not stand out with their national originality, and so on. However, new studies of frescoes prove the opposite. Hayk Hambardzumyan talked to Karen Matevosyan, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Deputy Director of the Matenadaran of Yerevan, about the originality of the Armenian frescoes, the peculiarities of its creation and preservation, the problems of research.
