New exhibition halls and restoration laboratories to open after the renovation of the Mother See Treasury House


In 2019, Alex and Marie Manoogian Treasury House Museum will feature new building facilities matching modern standards, two new exhibition halls, archives and restoration center.
 

Pilgrimage of seminarians to the borderland Tavush


Every summer, the end of educational year, the students and the teachers of Gevorkian Theological Seminary travel to different sacred places of Armenia. This year, the seminarians had picked borderland Tavush Marz.
 

The monument of Aram Manukyan opened in Yerevan


On July 17, in the area adjacent to the crossroad of Arami and Nalbandyan streets of Yerevan, the monument of the founder of the first Armenian Republic Aram Manukyan was opened.   The opening ceremony was launched with the prayer and blessing speech of the Patriarch. The monument of the public, political, military figure was constructed with the philanthropy of Ashot Tunyan and Gabriel Chemberjian. The author of the sculpture is Davit Minasyan.
 

“Creating Hands” project presented the works of another two young people


The creations of young painters, Davit Davtyan and Anna Krchatsyan are now on display in Gevorkian Theological Seminary. The 8th exhibition of “Creating Hands” features their compositions.

Three blankets rescued from the monasteries of Caesarea were presented to the Museum of the Mother See


The Museum of the Mother See was replenished with three blankets having historical and artistic significance.  They were presented to the Mother See by St. Thaddeus and Bartholomew Church of Marseille.  The blankets have been rescued from the monasteries surrounding the city Caesarea of Cappadocia  taken by the migrants with them.

On April 16, Goran Bregovic was in Armenia with his “Wedding and Funeral Orchestra”. They presented their new and old songs to the fans of their joyful music in the Sports Complex. 

Door-opening ceremony in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin


On the night of Tsakhkazard liturgy a Door-opening ceremony is held in our Church. The ceremony takes place in the form of dialog. It is held between the priests kneeling in front of the closed altar and those on the other side of the curtains.

The exhibition of Garegin Aghabekyan titled “Luys i Luso (Light of Light)” is his third individual exhibition.  It is featured in Naregatsi Art Union.
 

Candlelight Divine Liturgy of Holy Resurrection in Yerevan Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral


The Good news of the glorious resurrection of the Lord signaled the end of the 48-day long Great Lent. The Candlelight Divine Liturgy in S. Grigor Lusavorich Cathedral in Yerevan. was offered by Father Vahram Melikyan.
 

Composer Martun Israyelyan is 80


“There were no musicians in our house. I am not sure how I got caught up with music. My mom bought a kamancha for my brother, which fell off and broke one day. Years later I put it together and started making up melodies and playing it”,- recollects Martun Israyelyan. On April 5, a concert was organized in Komitas Chamber Music House to the honor of the 80th anniversary of the famous composer.

Republican exhibition of young artists opened


On March 21, the exhibition of young artists opened in Artists’ Union, is attended by not only Union members, but also graduates of art colleges.
