Artsakh commemorated the Holy Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide


On April 24, the representatives of the spiritual and state authorities of the Artsakh Republic laid flowers at the Martyrs' Memorial in Stepanakert. A liturgy was served in the Holy Mother of God Cathedral. Diocesan Primate Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan offered an intercession rite for the holy martyrs.

Washing of the Feet Service in the Diocese of Artsakh


In the evening of Great Thursday, in the Holy Mother of God Church in Stepanakert, the Primate of the Artsakh Diocese His Grace Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan anointed the feet of people symbolizing the 12 apostles with oil. In addition to the military, doctors, teachers and law enforcement officers were honored to ascend the Holy Altar.

Palm Sunday in the Artsakh Diocese


The Palm Sunday festive liturgy was held in the Holy Mother of God Church of Askeran under the presidency of the Primate of the Artsakh Diocese, His Grace Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan. A group of Sunday School students came to church accompanied by their Godfathers and decided to be baptized that day.

After the loss of Hadrut, Father Matteos Dravants was appointed to serve in the Askeran region.  There are 8 villages under the Pastor's spiritual care. Prior to that, he served in Hadrut for 16 years, from 2004 to 2020.

Feast of St. Vardan and His Companions in the St. Vardan Church of Chartar Town in Artsakh


The Church of Chartar, consecrated in 2018, is named after St. Vardan the Warrior, and was built in memory of the heroes who sacrificed their lives for Artsakh. This year, the Primate of the Diocese of Artsakh attended the Covenant Liturgy offered on the Feast of St. Vardan the Warrior and His Companions. The Celebrant was Rev. Fr. Mkhitar Haroyan, spiritual pastor of the Church.

Sunday school teachers were trained in the Artsakh Diocese


On the initiative of the Artsakh Diocese, Sunday Schools will be opened in 10 schools this year.  Training courses were conducted for teachers.

The Artsakh Ministry of Education and Science is trying to prevent Azerbaijan's anti-Armenian policy in the occupied territories


Photos of the Armenian occupied territories of Artsakh were displayed in Paris. The exhibition is aimed at preserving the Armenian cultural heritage in the territories occupied by Azerbaijan.

Pilgrimage of parents who lost their sons to Artsakh


The parents who lost their sons in the Artsakh war in 2020 went on a pilgrimage to the sanctuaries of Artsakh. On the first day, the parents were in the well-known Tsori military unit, then in the Gandzasar monastery.

Sona Hovhannisyan


The life and profession of Sona Hovhannisyan, Artistic Director of Hover Chamber Choir, is one piece of painting, which she alone tries to make whole. ''I have no religious educational background, which means I was robbed of the world music, painting, history of art, which topics are wholly and entirely based on the spiritual heritage'', says the musician. "So much is missing in our lives because of that lack of education, but nonetheless, we should not get frustrated, but rather try to recover our losses and be content with the life with the joy of a founder".
