Legal evaluation of euthanasia is closely linked to the specifics of medical, moral ethical, philosophical and religious views.  In certain countries it is criminal offense, while it is legally allowed in other countries.  Euthanasia is legally prohibited in Armenia. What ethical issues does it cause globally, and does the Christian standing help overcome these issues? The topic is discussed by the Head of the Armenian Unit of UNESCO Chair in Bioethics and Very Rev. Father Zakara Baghumian from the Mother See. 

Aragatsotn Diocese's Vardenis village St.Narek Chapel gives asylum to the 18th century wonder-wrought Gospel called “Pape's Narek” by people.On the occasion of marking the 5th anniversary of re-consecration of Vardenis’ St. Hakob Church, at the Divine Liturgy the miraculous Gospel was taken out from St. Narek Chapel to be worshiped by the believers. 

 

Back in November of last year, the French branch of AGBU had told the Primate of Tavush Diocese Bishop Bagrat Galstanyan about their willingness to support the community.After developing the renovation program, the group of 33 people initiated the fundraising process. “Yes” platform of the US Eastern Armenian Diocese of FAR initiated the program “The Road of School”. Owing to the efforts of the youth, 328 first graders of borderland Berd city and 16 neighboring villages of Tavush Marz and 328 neighboring will get school bags and stationery.

 

13th International Aram Khachaturian Contest kicked offin Opera and Ballet Theatre. This year the contest is held for vocal profession. The opening concert was attended by the State Youth Orchestra, special guest Youth Orchestra of CIS countries, the choir of Opera Theatre, soloists of Bolshoi Theatre of Russia and other honorary guests. 

A festival dedicated to renowned Georgian composer Giya Kancheliwas held in Yerevan. 

 

Gevorkian Theological Seminaryfinalized the results of 2016-2017 academic year. The rector of the Seminary presented the end-year results of institution to the Supreme Pontiff and summed up the educational-cultural activities of the Seminary.

This is the fourth year since the youth of Ararat Patriarchal Diocese, by their initiative, conduct Sermon of Cross in the bus-stops of Yerevan guided by senior Father Petros Malyan. The idea came from the youth.
