Retrospective exhibition of graphic works of Suren Safaryan


Exhibition of graphic works of Suren Safaryan has opened in the National Gallery. The works include travelling schizzos and sketches, urban scenes of Budapest, Nagymaros and Bologna, sketches of buildings, monuments and bridges. The exhibition is open till December 13.

Ballet “Gayane” with a new prime actor


On November 9, Opera Theatre featured a unique premiere. The leading actor of the ballet Gayane staged by Vilen Galstyan has changed. After working in Israel Ballet for 4 years, dancer Anna Kostanyan returned Armenia.

Conference on Nietzsche Studies


October 1-3: International Conference “Nietzsche in Cultural Context” was held in Yerevan State University. The conference hosted specialists of Nietzsche studies, literary critics, philosophers and musicians from Germany, India, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Georgia. Armenian side was represented by specialists invited from various HEIs.
The organizers plan to publish all reports and materials presented during the conference in a separate collection.

Symposium in Matenadaran dedicated to the Problems of the Preservation of Cultural Heritage


From September 25-27, Matenadaran of M. Mashtots hosted an international Symposium on “Problems of Preservation of Historical-Cultural Heritage”. The participants included renowned scientists from Russia, Georgia, Poland, Ukraine, Belarus, and Italy.

The Symposium was dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of “Service for the Protection of Historical Environment and Cultural Museum Reservations” SNCO.

Premieres in Chamber Music House


On September 26, for the first time in Armenia, Symphony No33 of Mozart, Vard Manukyan’s “Elegy” for viola and concertante and also “Grave” by J. J. Benda were presented in the Komitas Chamber Music House. Soloists were Ani Aghabekyan and Vache Hoveyan. The conductor’s panel presented Harutyun Arzumanyan.

First Concert of Authentic Light Orchestra in Yerevan


On September 18, the Opera Theatre hosted a unique experiment. For the first time, the band Authentic Light Orchestra performed in Armenia. The Armenian-Swiss band presented its usual song-list to the Armenian listeners, but jointly with the Symphonic Orchestra and guest Armenian musicians.
