Recently, some media outlets disseminated an announcement and expressed their concerns over media activities. The announcement was addressed to the government. But the reason for the discussion was the changes in the media landscape. Are our perceptions on media changing? Is it the government to define the rules of the game in the media field? What does the public expect from the media and what the media expects from the government? 
The director of "Region" Research Center Laura Baghdasaryan and media expert Harutyun Tsatryan discuss the topic.

WIKI-GLAM forum in Yerevan


GLAM - an abbreviation that stands for Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums. This year Yerevan marks its 2800th anniversary. To this end, Wikipedia Armenia intends to add the materials on Yerevan available in wiki-platforms through GLAM cooperation.   On May 10-11, within the scope of the project “Wiki Loves Yerevan”, a GLAM forum and expo were held with the involvement of 15 museums.
 

The collection of Sergey Parajanov's scripts was published


Within “The Treasures of Ararat” 17 scripts of Sergey Parajanov are features, seven of which are published for the first time. The book is in Russian, Parajanov’s texts as well. Each script is accompanied with short story of their creation. The author of interpretations and notes is Veronica Zhuravlyova. 
 

The military officers with disabilities went through a medical examination in Izmirlan Medical Center operating in the auspices of the Mother See


Today, 15 military officers with disabilities who participated in April four-day war, Artsakh liberation fight and military service, underwent medical examination  in Izmirlan Medical Center operating in the auspices of the Mother See.

“Inter-Church issues are not solved by using political technologies”: Father Markos


Mangasaryan invited the believers through his Facebook page to Avetik Isahakyan Library To discuss the calls of protest circulating in social network for the last several days, which are addressed to the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Patriarch of All Armenians. “Inter-Church issues are not solved by using political technologies”, said Father Markos Mangasaryan. “Besides, there is no division or polarization within the Armenian Apostolic Church to be compared to our internal political situation”. 

Blessing of the graduates in the newly constructed Arabkir Church


On May 25 the last bell tolled in the schools of Armenia and Artsakh.  For the graduates of Arabkir community schools N 82 and 128, the day was commenced from the backyard of the newly-constructed Church. They came to receive blessing, pray for the achievement of their goals and dreams before their last lesson.

First Olympiad of Sunday Schools was held


By the initiative of the Christian Education Center of the Mother See, first Olympiad of Sunday Schools was held this year. Students of 80 Sunday Schools from different Armenian Dioceses of our Church were participating in it.
 

Eve of the Feast of Vardavar in the Children’s Park of Yerevan


5 years ago the joyful tradition of celebrating the Eve of the Feast of Vardavar came to life. With the support of Yerevan City Hall, the members of the Youth Union of Ararat Patriarchal Diocese organize a march to the Children’s Park with songs and dances, folk traditions. This year too the festivity was launched from the Mother Cathedral St. Sarkis Church. The participants of the celebration moved to the Park from the Church accompanied by the Folk groups “Vark Hayots” and “Van”.

Meetings of Patriarch with the youth of the Armenian Dioceses in Diaspora


The last days of the past week were replete with meetings with the youth arriving to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin as pilgrims from different diaspora Armenian Diocese. The pilgrims come from France, Argentina, Eastern Diocese of the US.
