The Supreme Patriarch received Armenian pilgrims of Santa Clarita


On June 23, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians received pilgrims from the U.S. Western Diocese.  They are from in Santa Clarita, California. Father Serovbe Alanjian mentioned introduced the pilgrims pinpointing the fact that most of them are the descendants of the Armenian Genocide. 

The period of the Great Lent is starting.


The curtains of the altars in all churches has been shut to commence the Great Lent. The Christians have a special conduct during those days. 
 

Ս. The relic of the Saviour’s cross was taken from Etchmiadzin to Hayravank


On June 24, the 5th Sunday following Pentecost, is the day of Hayravank pilgrim. That day, the relic of the cross of the Saviour was taken from Etchmiadzin to Hayravank.

Karekin II Catholicos of All Armenians attended the final concert of Malatia Armenian Church Youth Center. The event was opened by the theatre group of the educational center, followed by other musical groups. 
 

The new publication of Yekmalyan's Patarag (Liturgy) reached the National Library


At the end of last year, the Makar Yekmalyan's comprehensive work “Songs of the Divine Liturgy” came to replenish the literary stock of the National Library of Armenia.    

Goran Bregovic was in Armenia with his “Wedding and Funeral Orchestra”


On April 16, Goran Bregovic was in Armenia with his “Wedding and Funeral Orchestra”. They presented their new and old songs to the fans of their joyful music in the Sports Complex. 

Defense of graduation thesis in Gevorkian Theological Seminary


Defense of graduation thesis took place in Gevorkian Theological Seminary. This year, the Seminary had 27 graduate students, who will be employed either in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin or in other Dioceses after the defense.  Some of the graduates have already submitted applications for post-graduate study

Catholicos of All Armenians received Armen Sargsyan


Armen Sargsyan, candidate for the President of Armenia nominated by the Republican Party was received in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and blessed by Karekin II Catholicos of All Armenians.
 

The National Library presented 100 books to Calcutta Humanitarian Seminary.


Vatche and Tamar Manoukian Library of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the National Library of Armenia have an extensive experience of cooperation. Recently, a book exchange took place. The National Library presented 100 books to the Calcutta Humanitarian Seminary functioning under the auspices of the Mother See. 
 

Concert of “Traveling” Choir in Yerevan


The French Choir “Traveling” has traveled in Italy, Bulgaria, Check Republic, UK, Spain, Greece and Morocco with concerts over the last 14 years. The Ministry of Culture and the Armenian Association of Little Armenian Singers NGO supported Armenian concerts. Karen, the only Armenian member of the choir, initiated the performance in Armenia.  

Shurishkan Gospel was taken to St. Gevork Church of Mughni


Every year, the Sunday following the Feast of Holy Resurrection, Shurishkan Gospel is taken from Matenadaran to St. Gevork Church in Mughni. The pilgrims believe that the Gospel famous by its names “Pap -granpa”, “Red”, “St. Basil of Caesarea” which fulfills their wishes is all-mighty. 
 

Armen Arakelyan and Hripsime Arakelyan are the participants of the 5th exhibition of “Creating Hands”


The series of exhibitions called “Creating Hands” still is on in the Mother See. The opening of the 5th exhibition of the initiative was dedicated to the Feast of Annunciation.  Numerous visitors congregated in the foyer of Gevorkian Theological Seminary to familiarize with the compositions of young sculptor Armen Arakelyan and painter Hripsime Arakelyan.
