His Holiness noted that Artsakh is not the past, it is a historical homeland, where the Artsakh Armenians have lived and created for thousands of years, defended their identity with blood and sweat, the contributions and sacred values of their fathers, cherished their dreams of a bright future. The Catholicos of All Armenians stated: "Let us raise our heartfelt prayers to God for all the brave men who gave their lives for the liberation and defense of Artsakh, as well as ask God's help for the speedy release of the military and political leaders of Artsakh and all our captive children."
