Judge Armine Meliksetyan of the Criminal Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan issued a guilty verdict against the Primate of the Shirak Diocese, Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan. The preventive measure of detention chosen against him remained unchanged. The Primate of the Shirak Diocese has been detained since June 28. The defense team claims that the high-ranking clergyman of the Armenian Church is being politically persecuted.
