The Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Brazil, Bishop Narek Berberian, celebrated the liturgy in Rio de Janeiro for the first time in his 12 years of leadership. Although the Armenian community of Rio was formed in the 1980s, there is still no Armenian church in the city. With the support of the Union of the Armenian Community of the State of Rio de Janeiro, the holy and immortal liturgy was celebrated in the Antiochian Orthodox Church. At the end of the liturgy, a water blessing ceremony was also performed and blessed water was distributed.
