Hankavan, once a prosperous Greek village, now has 15 households, of which only three belong to the Greek. There are mainly Armenians there, refugees. In summer, usually the village is hosting numerous tourists. While in winter, when the roads to external world, are closed, only a few households are left in the parish. Grandma Argenik is one of those in the custody of the parish; she gathers wood all year round with her back bent, cultivates her small garden and medicinal herbs.
