In the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, under the presidency of His Holiness Karekin II Catholicos of All Armenians and the chairmanship of the Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople His Eminence Archbishop Sahak Mashalyan, the meeting of the Supreme Spiritual Council was held, whose members expressed concern about the security and internal political problems of Armenia, emphasizing the need for national unity and consolidation in order to strengthen the homeland and preserve its sovereignty. They confirmed that the issues of return of illegally held captives in Azerbaijan, preservation of Artsakh's spiritual and cultural heritage, protection of Artsakh Armenians' rights, condemnation of Azerbaijan's genocidal actions should be kept open on the international agenda.
