With the fall of Soviet Union, the literary-cultural ties also fell apart. Before, the works of Armenian writers were translated, under the state funding and plan, into the languages of USSR countries, later in the period of independence, writers had to connect, translate and dessiminate their works themselves. How do the writers of former USSR countries connect, what role does the literary translation play in developing those ties? Hayk Hambardzumyan talks with poet, translator Victoria Chembartseva about these issues.
