Kessab: reality and information warfare

Over the last week, vast amount of conflicting information related to the losses, property destruction and defilation of Churches in the Armenian district Kessab, Syria, was disseminated. A big movement to save Armenians in Kessab was in move on the internet, the issue was also addressed by foreign media and authorities. How truthful and accurate was the information on Kessab situation? Who and what issues is trying to solve by spreading misinformation?
